Aubrey Provisor – Instructor

 

Aubrey and his wife have lived in Seattle since 1970. He started teaching Drivers Ed. in 1996. He’s a motorcycle buff and rides to work everyday. He is passionate about teaching and tells his students that he’s “not demanding, he just has high standards.” 


JC Fawcett – Administrator and Instructor

JC has been teaching Traffic Safety since 1997. When he's not working, he's flying around the Puget Sound with fellow instructors and friends as he is a private pilot. He's married with two beautiful daughters.

 


Armin Adams – Instructor

During tax time and part time the rest of the year, Armin is a Certified Public Accountant. He’s been teaching with Defensive Driving School since 2005 and loves sushi.


Sam Kuyper – Instructor


Sam earned his BA in Japanese from Central Washington University and taught English in Japan for 10 years.  He is currently working on his secondary teaching credential in Japanese.  Sam's grandfather worked as a traffic safety instructor for over 30 years.  After returning to the US from Japan, Sam decided to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps. He has been with Defensive since 2007. When he is not working, Sam enjoys spending time with his twin boys, playing the piano, and reading Japanese novels. 


Khalianney Sang

 

Khalianney graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2005 with a certificate from Seattle Vocational Institute as an Administrative Office Professional. She’s currently attending college and is majoring in Business Administration. Her interests include basketball and riding roller coasters!

 


Darrell Wolff – Instructor


Darrell is a former high school teacher and athletic coach from
Oklahoma. He moved to Washington August of 2000 and started teaching with Defensive in April 2004. He and his wife live in Seattle and also own Nana's Soup House on NE 55th east of the University District.

 


Bridget Johns – Administrator and Instructor

Bridget has been with Defensive Driving School since 2001. She's married with 4 children and one on the way. She enjoys reading, traveling, and volunteering at the Paramount Theatre. She has a BA in English and TESOL certificate from Western Washington University. She began teaching English overseas in 1995 and loves working with young people.


Ted Foss – Instructor

 

Ted has decades of teaching experience and thoroughly enjoys it! He received his Washington State certification in 1963 and has been teaching traffic safety with the Seattle School District since 1964. He received his Master’s of Education in 1965. A highlight of his career is the year he spent as an exchange teacher in London in 1972 and 1973. Ted and his wife live in Seattle. They have three children and two grandchildren.


Tony Baxter – Instructor

 

Tony’s been a Seattle resident for the last 48 years and graduated Garfield High in ’67… that’s 1967, not 1867! He spent two years in the military and taught relatives and friends how to drive for the last 20 years. He’s been a certified driving instructor since 2003. In his younger years he used to skydive and now his interests include astronomy, juggling, reading and singing.


Barbara Wheeler – Instructor


Barbara has been teaching Driver’s Education since 2001. She lives in 
Bellevue and has 3 children. She also works on the Microsoft Campus driving the Shuttle buses. “I love all kinds of sports watching and playing. I played soccer for 22 years for several teams in the Washington State Women’s Soccer Association.” 


Fay Fox – Instructor

 

Fay has spent 24+ years with Defensive Driving School and has never worked a job he didn’t enjoy. He served in the Army and has worked in the service station business for 20+ years, many of those as an Owner Operator. Fay’s stories about growing up in a large family on a farm are always entertaining and his sense of humor doesn’t skip a beat. He and his wife have raised many children, including dozens of foster children 


Denny Conrad – Instructor


Denny has lived in the Seattle area for more than 25 years with his wife and 3 children. He certified to teach traffic safety in 2004 and is our ever-patient stick shift instructor. Hobbies include Sea Kayaking and playing with his PC’s at home. Denny’s education includes a B.S. in Audonics.


Rainer W. Elliott – Instructor


Rainer certified to teach driver’s education in 2005. He graduated from Everett High and is currently pursuing a degree in Political Science. He’s a military man and served our country in
Iraq not too many years ago. His interests include athletics, baseball, basketball, Seahawk football, education, history, politics, and WSU football.

Herman Robert (Ro Bear) – Instructor

 

Herman grew up a Cajun in Southern Louisiana and spent 18 years in California prior to moving to WA in 1997. He earned his B.S. degree from L.S.U & B.A. degrees from Brooks Institute of Photography and currently owns & operates Classic Portraits in Redmond, WA. Herman has been a driving instructor since July 2006.

 


Pamela Cornell – Instructor


Pam’s been teaching Driver’s Ed since 1991 and with our company since 2003. She enjoys working with teen-agers because of their enthusiasm for life and fresh outlook on their future. Pam owns a piano school teaching group lessons to pre-school through elementary aged children. She also has a BA in Math from Seattle Pacific University.

 


Robert Allred – Instructor

 

Robert is one of our most experienced drivers with over 2,000,000 miles under his belt. He’s been teaching driver’s education for since 1998, driven school busses for 15 years and even mail trucks for 8 years. He loves education so much that he spent 11 years in college with BA degrees in management and accounting, received a teaching certificate and even went to a year of dental school. His interests include military history, WWII fighter planes, golf, football and track & field.


Barbara Lewis – Instructor

Barbara has a MA from the University of Illinois and a long background of teaching English in college and university settings in this country as well as in the Middle East and Europe.  Now she enjoys teaching driver's education to teens because she believes it is a place she can make a difference.  “I really want my students to understand the responsibility they have as drivers and to know what they need to be safe on the road.” When she is not teaching driver's ed., she likes photography, golfing, hiking and camping.


Gayan Pillai – Instructor

 


Glenn Wilhite – Instructor


Glenn comes to us from Kansas where he lived for 25 years and taught third grade. He has a BA from the University of California and MA From Emporia State University in Kansas. He and his other half, Karin have three children between them. They enjoy movies, hiking and jazz music. Glenn also sings with the group Northwest Sound, a Bellevue men's barbershop chorus. He began teaching driver's education with our school in 2005 in the charming town of Snohomish as well as stick shift instruction on the Eastside and in the U-District.


Verla Douge – Instructor

Verla Douge is the mother of five grown children (one deceased) and has been married to her husband Richard for nearly two thirds of her life. She has experience with the Mukilteo School District as a teacher’s aid in the special education program. Occasionally, she is able to use sign language for teaching our deaf driving students. Verla started teaching driver’s education in 1998 and has been with Defensive Driving School since 2000. She enjoys teaching the teenagers and meeting the adults that come here from all over the world to learn to drive.


Jean Ebright – Instructor

 Jean’s entire adult life has been spent working with children. She drove school busses for 10 years and began teaching students to drive in 1998. She’s also taught Sunday School and other programs for children.


Brian O’Meara – Instructor

 


Larry Pierce – Lake Stevens Administrator and Instructor

 Larry was raised in Moses Lake, Washington, and is a graduate of Arizona Automotive Institute. He is committed to training new drivers how to drive safely as they interact with other drivers. Larry enjoys teaching students in the classroom, as well as working with them individually on their driving skills. Interests include spending time with his family and boating activities.


Sue Pierce – Instructor

 Sue has been with Defensive Driving School in Lake Stevens since 2004. Sue and Larry are married and have three children, who have all learned to drive defensively with Defensive Driving School. She has a BA in English from the University of Washington, and enjoys reading and traveling.


Mark Sasaki – Instructor

 Mark grew up and worked on the family produce farm in Orting, WA. His first driving experiences came from a tractor along with other farming equipment. He now lives in Seattle where there are probably more traffic signals in a square mile than there were students in his high school.

Kate Anderson – Instructor

Kate enjoys working with teens and has worked with a variety of different ages as a nanny, gymnastics coach, and mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters. She has a BA degree in Criminal Justice from Seattle University.  In her spare time, Kate's interests include running, cooking, scrapbooking, reading, taking dance classes, and women’s tackle football.


Phil Olander - Instructor

 


Brandi Crockett – Instructor

Brandi grew up in Mill Creek, Washington. She has been married for 4 years and has 3 children. She has been with Defensive Driving School for 6 years and has been an instructor for 3 years. She has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington in American Studies with a minor in Education. She currently resides in Granite Falls where she enjoys spending time with her family and all that Granite Falls has to offer.
